Telehealth Application for Maternal Care and Postpartum RecoveryPresenter: Dr. Pinkey Patel, PharmD, NASM-CPT
Preventing complications during pregnancy and postpartum is possible, yet the U.S. healthcare system often misses key opportunities to intervene. Limited touchpoints in standard care create gaps in essential support and education. This presentation will explore how telehealth can transform maternal care by providing continuous, personalized care throughout pregnancy and postpartum, with a focus on improving outcomes for mothers. In collaboration with employers, telehealth solutions can be integrated into employee benefits, offering accessible care that promotes both maternal health and postpartum recovery. Public health initiatives can leverage telehealth to scale access to maternal care for underserved populations, particularly in rural areas, where barriers to in-person care are significant. Through digital platforms, innovative therapies like diaphragmatic breathing and pelvic floor muscle training can be more widely utilized, supporting comprehensive maternal health for all women, regardless of geographic location. Telehealth offers a scalable, effective solution to improve maternal and postpartum care outcomes across diverse populations.
